Community Chalk Mural with Richard Nickel and Christopher Revels
The community was invited to come out and help paint the "Path of Love" chalk mural designed by Richard Nickel and Christopher Revels on the Sandler Center Plaza. This all took place during the Proteus Festival, the opening celebration of the Zeiders American Dream Theater (The Z). The mural is a temporary installation - only lasting a few days.
Richard Nickel is an active artist and educator at Old Dominion University. Some of his murals can be seen in the ViBe Creative District in Virginia Beach, the NEON district in Norfolk and in a Town Center parking garage.
Christopher Revels is a local artist and educator with Young Audiences of Virginia. His "Walking Houses" drawings that popped up all over Norfolk, also made their way into the "Path of Love" on the Sandler Center Plaza.
