JR Reid was born in Virginia Beach, VA. He attended Kempsville High School and he was named Player of the Year by Gatorade and USA Today. When he began his NBA career, he was the 5th pick overall in the first round of the 1989 NBA draft. From 1989 to 2003 he went on to play for the Spurs, Hornets, Kicks, Lakers, Bucks, and Cavaliers. Throughout his career in the NBA he showed determination, athleticism, and passion.
